Neil is one of the UK’s most experienced agricultural consultants, with more than 30 years of advising livestock businesses on improving performance and profitability. His expertise combines strategic business advice with practical nutrition and technical consultancy, enabling clients to make informed decisions that deliver long-term success.
Neil provides business advice, prepares business plans and supports business change for farmer-owned enterprises and corporate clients. He also specialises in dairy and youngstock nutrition, herd health management and forage planning, helping livestock businesses improve productivity, efficiency and bottom-line profit.
Helen Dent is an agricultural and sustainability consultant specialising in sustainability strategy, agricultural supply chains and practical farm-level delivery. She works with farmers, processors and wider agricultural businesses to develop and implement strategies that deliver measurable environmental outcomes while remaining practical and commercially viable.
Her expertise spans sustainability strategy and target setting, agricultural supply chains, dairy and livestock systems, carbon foot-printing and emissions reduction, alongside practical farm advice including nutrient and soil management, grassland and forage systems, grass and forage seed mixtures, and environmental scheme and grant support.
She also brings a strong commercial perspective to sustainability, helping businesses understand the costs, opportunities and practical implications of delivering change across the supply chain. A key focus of Helen’s work is connecting supply-chain sustainability ambitions with practical, effective action at farm level.
Helen has over 10 years’ experience in the agricultural sector and holds a First Class BSc (Hons) in Agriculture with Crop Management from Harper Adams University. She is FACTS qualified, with additional qualifications in Soil & Water Management and Conservation Management, and is registered on the Environmental Advisers Register.
Based near Penrith, Cumbria, Helen lives and works on her family dairy farm, giving her a strong practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing farming businesses.
Joss is an independent dairy consultant specialising in dairy nutrition, helping farmers across Northern England and Scotland optimise herd health, milk yield, and farm profitability.
Based in Yorkshire, Joss provides fully independent, data-driven advice tailored to the unique challenges faced by farmers across Northern England and Southwest Scotland. He brings 19 years of dedicated industry experience to the table, having entered the sector immediately after graduating from Newcastle University. His advice is always unbiased and focused entirely on what is best for your herd, with a clear focus on maximising your margins over total feed costs.
Committed to keeping British farming at the cutting edge, Joss has travelled extensively across Europe and the United States. By visiting leading progressive dairy units and collaborating with international nutritionists, he continuously brings world-class research and global best practices back home to apply directly on UK farms.
Having worked with both large scale dairies and robotic herds for so long Joss is able to call on a wealth of experience when it comes to implementing changes to help drive farm profitability. Adapting what is correct according to the textbook into what can work on your farm is one of his key strengths.
Eliot is a consultant from Cumbria, shaped by a lifetime in farming and over a decade working with progressive livestock businesses across the UK. Raised on a Cumbrian farm, he brings a grounded, practical understanding of livestock systems together with strong technical and commercial expertise.
After studying Agriculture at Harper Adams University, Eliot was recognised as Dairy Scholar of the Year, reflecting his early commitment to high‑performance dairy management. He went on to manage large‑scale dairy enterprises across South West England and Scotland, overseeing multiple farms, estates and dairy herds. Alongside day‑to‑day management, he provided strategic and technical advisory support to farming businesses, helping clients improve herd performance, business resilience and long‑term profitability.
Today, Eliot works with a wide range of dairy systems, from high‑output housed operations to grazing‑focused herds, advising on business planning, nutrition, technical performance and operational strategy. His approach is methodical and data‑driven, but always rooted in the realities of farm life. He focuses on clear decision making, practical solutions and building systems that work for both the business and the people running it.
Eliot combines his technical knowledge with a strong understanding of rural business pressures, giving clients structured, actionable guidance that strengthens performance and supports long‑term growth and profitability.
Edward Lott has 28 years’ experience across farming, food supply chains and commercial agribusiness. Raised on a North Devon farm, he combines practical on‑farm insight with senior consultancy experience to help dairy businesses and supply‑chain organisations improve profitability, resilience and long‑term value.
Ed specialises in turning market insight into deliverable plans, funding packages and managing change that strengthen balance sheets and drive sustainable growth.
Ed is based near Swindon in Wiltshire but operates across the country for specific projects and farm situations.
Alongside work then Ed enjoys spending time with wife Liz and their son’s Sam and Jack or following motorsport or horse racing.
Tillie Williams is a farm consultant based in Staffordshire, working with farmers and rural businesses across the Midlands and North West.
With over 15 years of farming and consultancy experience, Tillie combines practical, hands-on knowledge of agriculture with strong financial and business expertise. Throughout her career, she has provided high-level strategic advice to farming businesses, helping clients assess performance, navigate change and make important decisions about the future direction of their business.
Tillie works with a wide range of dairy farming systems, from extensive block-calving businesses to high-output, fully housed herds, giving her a broad understanding of the different opportunities and challenges facing dairy businesses.
Her approach starts with understanding the personal and business objectives of each client, then tailoring the support to help achieve them. She brings together financial, technical and strategic thinking to provide clear, practical advice.
